Why it isn’t for everyone is debatable—not knowing the benefits? Not caring?…

My “Another recipe that’s so easy, it shouldn’t even be called a recipe” lfrv chocolate bites

- Bananas
- Cacao
- Dates
- Handful of walnuts

Blend bananas and cacao until smooth. Add dates and blend until incorporated. Roughly chop walnuts and mix through.

Spread mixture onto baking paper and place in freezer. Once solidified, slice and enjoy! Keep stored in freezer.

Yum! I like this because you can easily omit the walnuts for an overt-free version. I’ve found adding vanilla bean and a dash of cinnamon always enhances the chocolatey flavor, too ;)

Must try this!

kaascade:

“THE VEGG —A brand new incredible, edible egg-free product has just hit the market, making vegan eating even easier and tastier than ever before. The Vegg is a versatile egg yolk replacer that can be used (instead of egg yolks) in a wide range of recipes, and you can even use it straight as a liquid “yolk” for dipping toast in.

The Vegg is all-vegan, which is great news for the more than 250 million egg-laying hens in the US, most of whom spend their lives intensively confined inside barren wire cages. And since it’s made using 100% plant-based ingredients it’s also cholesterol-free.
INGREDIENTS: Nutritional Yeast Flakes, Sodium Alginate, Kala Namak, Beta-Carotene

Plus, every time you buy The Vegg, you can have an even greater positive impact because 10% of net sales will be donated to Compassion Over Killing until 2014!”

Has anybody tried this??? Looks too good to be true!

I bought some but I have no idea what to do with it oops

Are you kidding??? The website has SO MANY RECIPES and I want to try them all. I think if I bought it it would last me a week, tops, because I’d be egging up everything!

Devonshire Klotted Kream - Great taste, minus the moo!

Devonshire Klotted Kream - Great taste, minus the moo!:
exploitationiscontagious:

“Who says you can’t enjoy luscious thick cream when you are vegan or if you are lactose intolerant? Well now you can! Introducing Klotted Kream, a new dairy-free clotted cream alternative delivered directly from Devon straight to your door. Go on, treat yourself!

Each 4oz pot (or there’s a larger 8oz pot) of Devonshire Klotted Kream contains enough to slather thickly onto 4 scones or there’s enough to decadently fill a Victoria sponge cake.. But don’t just stop there, think of the other things you could do with it! Used in the place of thick whipped dairy cream, the possibilities are endless..

We are a vegan company so we understand how important ethics are. Klotted Kream is handmade in Devon and is completely free from animal derived products. It’s soya free too and made from a base of oats which have a natural sweetness and a creamy taste and texture.

Klotted Kream is free from: dairy, soya, lactose, cholesterol, saturated animal fat, nuts, sugar, gluten* and cruelty to cows!

*Free from wheat gluten. Contains oat gluten

Also: From every purchase of Devonshire Klotted Kream, 25% of the profits will be donated to animals in need. Our Facebook page will highlight the chosen charity every month!”

Yes! The easiest and best almond milk tutorial ever. FRESH ALMOND MILK ALL THE TIME FOR EVERYONE!

Almond milk tutorial..

1. Soak a cup of raw almonds overnight.

2. Add the soaked almonds and 4 cups of water to your blender. Optional: sweeten it with a couple of dates, agave, vanilla and/or maple syrup.

3. Blend it at high speed for a minute or two.

4. Pour the milk through a “nut milk bag” and squeeze out the liquid..

5. Pour the milk into a purdy little bottle/jar..

6. Lasts 4-7 days in the fridge. Enjoy!

almonds are expensive, but if you can get your hands on ‘em, this is super easy! i’ve been making almond milk like this a lot lately and i’m loving it.

This website has a great 4 week plan for families, with a different meal almost every single day! One plan is completely vegan, and it will feed 4 people for 4 weeks for only £25 a week - that’s less than £1 per day per person, which is fucking amazing.

If you’re a skint vegan, or just a vegan looking for new recipes, check it out.

p.s. they had huge nutritional advice when forming the meal plan so that it’s entirely nutritious for an entire month!

vegansaurus!: Say goodbye to the polar bear

vegansaurus!: Say goodbye to the polar bear:
vegansaurus:

Too bad, polar bears, but a bunch of us humans don’t want to stop selling your pelts on the open market, so you can expect to be hunted to extinction.

This issue is tied up with politics surrounding Canada’s First Nations, specifically the Inuit:

There are about 25,000 polar bears…

frugivorous: so, a lot of you wonderful people asked me about the apple-pie banana...

frugivorous: so, a lot of you wonderful people asked me about the apple-pie banana...:
frugivorous:

Homemade Brussels sprouts. Recipe adapted from Vedge: 100 Plates Large And Small That Redefine Vegetable Cooking. They turned out SO well!

Vedge Restaurant is hands-down the best thing that has ever happened to my hometown of Philadelphia, period. A newcomer on the Philly…

“‘When a worker wanted to open up her cub’s stomach [to harvest bile], the mother bear broke open the cage and went after the cub. After failing to release the chained cub, she hugged the cub. Then, the mother bear killed the cub to save it from a life of hell.’” Then the mother ran headfirst into a wall to kill herself. This is the level of anguish that mothers endure on factory farms everywhere — from this mother on a bear bile farm, to the mothers who cry for their babies on dairy farms. Don’t support the exploitation of animals in any of its forms.

Raw Vegan Chocolate Cake with Berries

Ingredients:

For cake:

3 cups/360g of hazelnuts (or whichever nuts you prefer)

2/3 cup/60g of raw cacao powder

1/4 teaspoon of salt

1 cup/170g of pitted dates

For frosting:
1/3 cup/60g of pitted dates

1/4 cup/60ml of agave syrup

1/2 cup/120g of avocado

1/3 cup/30g of raw cacao powder

For filling and garnish:

1 cup/120g of fresh or frozen raspberries

120g of any berries you like

Method:

1. Blend the nuts with the salt and cacao powder until you have a rough powder. Then add the pitted dates and blend until you have a sticky mixture. Divide this mixture into two parts, wrap each in cling-film, and put in the fridge.

2. Whilst the chocolate mixture is cooling, prepare the frosting by mixing the dates with the agave syrup, then add the avocado and mix again until well combined, add the cacao powder and mix again.

3. Prepare a round 14cm cake tin with cling film (on the bottom and around the sides).

4. Take one of the cooled chocolate mixtures from the fridge and press this mixture onto the bottom of the cake tin, smoothing out with the back of a spoon.

5. Spread a few tablespoons of the frosting onto this mixture and sprinkle over a handful of the raspberries.

6. Take the second cooled chocolate mixture from the fridge and spread the dough out roughly to the size of the tin. Then place the dough over the layer of frosting and raspberries, applying little pressure to avoid squashing the raspberries.

7. Take the cake from the cake tin and place on a plate or serving platter. Decorate with the remaining frosting and berries.

Woah this sounds awesome!
